Microbiological and Technological Insights on Anaerobic Digestion of Animal Manure: A Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Anaerobic digestion of animal manure results in the production renewable energy (biogas) and nutrient-rich biofertilizer. A further benefit technology is decreased greenhouse gas emissions that otherwise occur during storage. Since makes anaerobic cost-efficient advance for higher methane yields, it utmost importance to find strategies improve bottlenecks such as degradation lignocellulose, e.g., cattle manure, or circumvent microbial inhibition by ammonia caused nitrogen compounds in, chicken, duck, swine manure. This review summarizes characteristics different manures provides insight into underlying mechanisms causing challenging problems with process. particular focus put upon retention time organic loading rate high-ammonia processes, which should be designed optimized support microorganisms tolerate high conditions, syntrophic acetate oxidizing bacteria hydrogenotrophic methanogens. Furthermore, operating managements used stabilize increase yield including supporting materials, addition trace elements, incorporation removal technologies, are summarized. The finalized a discussion research needed outline conceivable operational methods process instability performance.

Effect of Physical and Chemical Operating Parameters on Anaerobic Digestion of Manure and Biogas Production: A Review

Introduction: The need for food produced from animal husbandry has made it a growing industry which result in increment of livestock waste. On the basis of environmental and economic considerations, these materials require treatment and management. Anaerobic digestion and creation of biogas are the most effective methods of waste management. Several parameters affect the anaerobic digestion of ...

Microbiological contamination of digested products from anaerobic co-digestion of bovine manure and agricultural by-products.

AIMS This study was performed to investigate the microbiological contamination of digestate product (DP) obtained from the anaerobic co-digestion of bovine manure and agricultural by-products. METHODS AND RESULTS Microbiological analyses were performed on bovine manure, fresh DP, liquid and solid fractions and stored liquid fraction of DP. A statistically significant reduction of faecal bacte...

Anaerobic Digestion of Flushed Dairy Manure

In Florida, dairies use water extensively for barn flushing and waste collection, because it is sanitary and less labor-intensive. However, the practice of hydraulic flushing results in greatly increased volumes of dilute wastewater. In addition, many dairies have incorporated fan and sprinkler cooling systems for cow comfort in the warm Florida climate, which contributes even more water to the...

Effects of dairy manure and corn stover co-digestion on anaerobic microbes and corresponding digestion performance.

This study investigated the effects of corn stover as a supplemental feed on anaerobic digestion of dairy manure under different hydraulic retention times (HRT). The results elucidated that both HRT and corn stover supplement significantly influenced microbial community and corresponding anaerobic digestion performance. The highest biogas production of 497 mL per gram total solid loading per da...
